What does a floating pontoon cost per square metre?

A floating pontoon made of HDPE floats costs €242 to €249 net per square metre, fully connected with pins, bolts and spacer rings. A 1.5 × 6 m jetty therefore costs €2,239.50 net, a 2 × 8 m one €3,931.50. On top come the shore bracket, anchoring, any accessories you choose and freight.

How is the price per square metre made up?

One square metre of floating jetty consists of four floats of 50 × 50 cm each. Each costs €49.50 net, so €198 together. Then there is the connecting hardware: coupling pins inside the surface, bolt sets and spacer rings along the edge. Depending on size, that comes to €44 to €51 per square metre.

There are no other costs for the jetty itself. The floats are substructure and walking surface in one, so no boards, beams or concrete are needed. The table shows nine typical jetty sizes, calculated with the same formulas as our configurator.

Grey H40 floats including coupling pins, bolt sets and spacer rings, excluding VAT, without tools, anchoring and freight (calculated individually). Load capacity 350 kg per m², so a 1.5 × 6 m jetty carries around 3.1 t.

Why does a narrow jetty cost a little more per m²?

Because it has proportionally more edge. Along the edge you join the floats with bolt sets at €8.50, inside with coupling pins at €9, each of which holds four floats at once. A 1.5 m wide jetty therefore comes to around €249 per square metre, a 2 m one to €246, a 3 m wide surface to €242.

The difference is small. For planning, the rule of thumb is enough: square metres times €250 gives you the material price of the jetty. We do not recommend a jetty narrower than 1.5 m, because it feels unsteady underfoot.

What else do you need besides the jetty?

The jetty floats on its own, but it still has to be held in place. These items are added depending on your water and your wishes, all prices net:

  • Tools, one-off: rubber mallet €13.50 and pin spanner €39.75, €53.25 together.
  • Shore bracket: L-shaped jetty bracket, €135 each. We recommend at least two per jetty.
  • Anchoring in the water: per pile, a pile guide from €175 (Ø 100 mm) to €295 (Ø 260 mm); the pile itself comes from a local marine contractor. Or per anchor, a 40 kg ground anchor for €265 plus anchor bracket for €76.50 and chain.
  • Access: stainless steel swim ladder for €575, floats with the jetty.
  • Mooring: side cleat from €24.75 for small boats, cross bollard in HDPE for €37.50 or in stainless steel for €69.50 for boats up to about eight metres.
  • Fendering: short fender for €49.50, so the boat does not chafe against the jetty.
  • Freight: calculated individually for your location and included in your quote.
  • Permit: depending on the country and the body of water, a jetty may need a permit. Check with the responsible authority before you install it. This is not legal advice. For the UK, the rules are set out in our guide Do I need permission for a pontoon in the UK?

The manufacturer recommends 2 ground anchors or 4 piles per jetty. Allow a chain per anchor as long as the water depth plus 2 m. We set the exact anchoring for your water in the quote. Whether a pile or an anchor suits you better is covered in our guide Piles or floats?

What does a complete 1.5 × 6 m bathing jetty cost?

Around €3,900 net, including anchoring but without chain and freight. This is how the price breaks down if you fit the jetty with a swim ladder, two shore brackets, two ground anchors and two bollards:

  • 36 H40 floats: €1,782.00
  • Connecting hardware (22 pins, 26 bolt sets, 11 spacer rings): €457.50
  • Tools: €53.25
  • 2 L-shaped jetty brackets: €270.00
  • Swim ladder: €575.00
  • 2 HDPE cross bollards: €75.00
  • 2 ground anchors 40 kg with anchor bracket: €683.00
  • Total net: €3,895.75

Add a chain per anchor, as long as the water depth plus 2 m, and freight. Instead of two ground anchors you can also use four piles, each with a pile guide from €175. The full parts list with part numbers is in our guide Building a floating pontoon.

Bar chart of the cost of a 1.5 × 6 m bathing jetty: floats €1,782, two ground anchors with anchor bracket €683, swim ladder €575, connecting hardware €457.50, two jetty brackets €270, cross bollards €75, tools €53.25, total €3,895.75 net
Almost half of the complete price is the floats. Chain and freight are added depending on location.

What does an L-shaped jetty cost?

An L-shaped jetty, for example with a cross section at the end where a boat moors alongside, also costs around €250 per square metre. A 1.5 × 6 m main jetty with a 1.5 × 3 m cross section consists of 54 floats and costs around €3,360 net.

At the corner where the two parts meet, you need no extra parts; the parts list stays the same. So you simply add up the main jetty and the cross piece separately. How wide a finger pontoon should be for your boat depends on boat length and weight, so just ask us about it with your enquiry.

Is a jetty made of low H25 floats cheaper?

Slightly. The low H25 is 25 cm high and costs €46.50 instead of €49.50. On a 1.5 × 6 m jetty that saves you around €108, roughly 5 %.

In return it carries less than the 40 cm H40. For a bathing jetty on a pond or a shallow lake with a few people standing or sitting on it, that is enough. It also needs only 50 cm of water instead of 80 cm. For a boat jetty where boats moor and loads are moved, we recommend the H40.

What does a boat dock you drive into cost?

A jetty where your boat moors alongside costs the same as any other floating pontoon, around €250 per square metre. If you want the boat out of the water so the hull stays dry, you need a boat dock with a drive-in channel. It comes as a complete kit, for example 3 × 6 m for €4,242.70 net. All sizes are under Boat Dock.

How do you get an exact price for your jetty?

Enter length and width in the configurator. It instantly shows the parts list and material price. Send us your enquiry with a few details about your water: depth, how much the level varies, what the bottom is like and whether a boat will moor. You then get a quote with anchoring, accessories and freight, with no hidden items.

Prices as per our price list of 01/10/2026. Prices may change. Before you buy, get a current, binding quote via the configurator or an enquiry.
